Cross Kites Pro HORNET (bar) — 4-line traction wing
The Cross Kites Pro Hornet is among the reference wings of the 4-line range: versatile, progressive, it covers both learning and advancement while maintaining the qualities that made the model historically successful.
Buggy, mountainboard, snowkite: the Hornet adapts to all land-based kite practices. Quick handling, solid flight stability, construction capable of withstanding intensive use — it is a wing that can be flown in varied conditions without fear of damage.
The secret to its handling lies in its rear lines: a slight adjustment of the brake input is enough to vary the traction generated, the wing's position in the window and the precision of its placement. This is not just steering, it is true flight control. Technically, this relies on an A, B, C and brake bridle arrangement that distributes the load across the entire sail chord: the brakes shape the profile rather than pulling on the trailing edge. Combined with a thoughtful profile, the whole maintains controlled flight shape without sacrificing the stability that made the Hornet's reputation.
At the bar, this principle translates directly into your hands: the Cross Kites Pro 4-line bar keeps the front lines concentrated on power transmission, with rear lines remaining responsible for steering. Result: even the 6.0 size turns tight without requiring a wide bar. A Ronstan pulley allows the power lines to follow the steering input, and the front lines adjust to control the wing's angle of attack.
On the construction side, the sail combines a light 40D nylon shell with more resistant 70D polyester internal profiles, low-stretch Dyneema bridle and Dyneema SK75 flight lines — with stitched terminations on both sides for a clean and durable connection. Air inlets covered with mesh keep the leading edge under control, and an internal dust channel evacuates sand towards the tips for easy cleaning.
Accessible from the first sessions, the Hornet nonetheless accompanies the practitioner throughout their progression in land-based kiting. Delivered complete with its bar, it is ready to fly straight out of the bag.
