2001: The birth of Flysurfer in Bavaria
Flysurfer was founded in 2001 by four friends passionate about paragliding and kite, based on the shores of Lake Chiemsee in southern Bavaria, Germany. Their project was born from a simple conviction: to apply paragliding technologies to the world of kite to create foil kites of unmatched quality and performance.
The brand is developed under the umbrella of Skywalk GmbH & Co. KG, a German group specialised in aerial gliding sports. This unique positioning — at the crossroads of paragliding and kite — gives Flysurfer a technological DNA that few brands can claim.
From the very beginning, Flysurfer set three founding pillars: innovation, quality and service. The slogan "Ahead of its time" perfectly sums up the brand's ambition.

Flysurfer's major innovations
Flysurfer revolutionised the kite world by introducing technologies derived from paragliding. The brand notably developed the Triple Depower technology, which allows simultaneous modification of the angle of attack, the camber and the projected surface of the kite — offering an exceptionally wide wind range and unrivalled manoeuvrability.
It was also Flysurfer that popularised high-aspect-ratio closed-cell foil kites for kitesurf and snowkite, with models such as the Speed — which became the Soul — absolute references in light wind.
The brand also innovated with single-skin Peak kites, ultra-light and with no rigid structure, which have become the reference for snowkite, ski touring kite and backcountry.
